Our company arrives in Paraguay, in partnership with the companies SACEEM and CONCRET MIX, to build what has been defined by the state company ANDE, as the most important substation of the electrical system of that country.

“Grow in a sustainable way to consolidate ourselves as a leading company and an international reference”. So begins the new INGENER Vision that we recently approved and communicated; and today, in the Independence Hall of the Government Palace in Asunción, Paraguay, a very relevant step has been taken to make it a reality.

In the presence of the President of Paraguay, Mario Abdo Benítez, and the highest authorities of the state-owned company ANDE, the contract for the construction and interconnection of the new 500 kV Valenzuela substation to the Paraguayan electricity system was signed. This substation will be the most important one in Paraguay, since it will allow it to have, for the first time in history, 100% of the energy generated by the Itaipú binational hydroelectric power plant.

The work – which was awarded to the San José Consortium, made up by the Uruguayan companies Ingener, Saceem, and Concret Mix from Paraguay – will require an investment of US$ 78 million and will consist of the construction of a 500 kV transformation substation in the town of Valenzuela, Cordillera Department, and the sectioning of 500 kV and 220 kV high voltage lines, besides other complementary works.

This great challenge that Paraguay is imposing on its energy sector is in addition to other large projects carried out by Ingener, such as the construction of wind farms, solar farms, thermal power plants and substations, EPC contracts, electrical interconnection works to the grid, electromechanical infrastructure, civil works, assembly, commissioning and O&M services that we have developed in Argentina, Bolivia and Uruguay.

“We are proud of this new step in the growth of Ingener, which has gone from being the largest energy infrastructure construction company in Uruguay to consolidating its position as a relevant player in the regional market”. Daniel Vázquez’s words sum up the satisfaction and pride felt by all of us who work at INGENER.
